Red and White Transferware at Christmas

Hello everyone,

I have been doing some decorating for

Christmas lately as I like to get it done

early so I can enjoy it.

So,today I am sharing part of my collection

of red and white transferware with a few

Christmas touches which I think is all

it needs .

                                                                 This beautiful old platter in an
                                                                antique shop in old Quebec a
                                                                couple of years ago.It is Mason~
                                                                Vista made in England.

A mix and match of red

and white china. with a

few sheep and little Christmas

trees

                                                                       The beautiful cream and sugar
                                                                       were a Christmas gift from a
                                                                       good friend. They are Mason ~ Vista.

My toile Father Christmas is

back in the kitchen .....

     I always enjoy seeing him again.

Last year at Christmas I had my teal green

and white on display on this shelf ~ you

Our Guest Bedroom

        Hello everyone,

   A few days ago I made a few changes

in our guest bedroom.

Nothing major...... just moved the antique

bed so that it is on an angle on the other

side of the room.

                                                                             

Our home is a farmhouse and is almost

    100 years old. It is not fancy but it is 

comfortable.

I am adding a few Christmas touches

to the room. 

A tea tray.....I must be on a 

diet today, no scones!

                                                                                   

The wallpaper has been on for

several years now.

I bought the toile wallpaper for

$2 a double roll at Mardens

in Bangor.

The comforter and shams were

a thrift shop find.

You might have noticed my passion

for transferware and toile,

                                                            The handmade bedspread was a $5.
                                                             yard sale find~ I love it!

                                                                                 

                                                                 The armoire was turned on an
                                                                  angle also.

Just a few simple changes in our

guest gave the room a whole

new look.

                                               My thoughts and prayers are with the
                                                          people of France and we pray for
                                                          peace throughout the world during
                                                          these tragic times.

Blue & White Transferware Tea

              Hello everyone,

                I seem to have taken a mini break from

                   my blog as we finished up our fall chores.

                The weather has been lovely here but one

               never knows when it will change so it is

               a good feeling to have the outdoor chores

                  done. Soon I will be focusing on Christmas

decorating.

                  But now it is time for a tea break.

                                                                          I made some fresh biscuits for tea
                                                                          today.......one of my husband's favorites.

                                                                           Today, my blue and white
                                                                           transferware is our choice
                                                                           for the day and as usual it is
                                                                           mix and match.

                                                                                 A cup of hot tea is a nice
                                                                                 treat coming in from the
                                                                                 crisp air.

                                                                       Love this teapot.

                                               

                    I have collected transferware in

                    several colors over the years and

                     change my displays from time to

                       time so I can enjoy them all.

Random Autumn Beauty

             Hello everyone,

  I hope you had a good week and I am

 sure you are looking forward to the 

weekend now.

I am sharing some random autumn

beauty today.

I like the autumn light in the shot above

of the Canada geese that we saw in Maine.

I love the cart.

                                                       The cottages of Cabot Cove where we have
                                                        stayed in the past in Kennebunkport Maine.
                                                        They are quaint and cozy.

                             The autumn colors in our garden.

                                      We are almost done of our fall cleanup.

                                      Vesey's have their blowout sale on their

                                  bulbs and leftover perennials so I had a

                                             fun shopping spree but tried to keep reminding

                                   myself that I had to find a space to plant

                                           them and then dig and plant. Ah! but think of

      the beauty next spring!

                                                       It must be time for a cup of tea on
                                                                  our autumn porch.....don't you think!

Brown & White Transferware Autumn Tea

                                                                              Hello everyone,

                                                             It is an overcast day today so a
                                                             a lovely afternoon tea is just what
                                                             we need to brighten the day.
                                                           
                                                           

                                                                   How about a cup of cozy chamomile
                                                                   tea?

                                                           I am using brown and white transferware
                                                           for tea today.

                                                                      The teapot is "Brown Botanical"
                                                                      by Skye McGhie.

                                                                     Gingerbread cake is a nice
                                                                     autumn treat.
