Christmas Details

                                                                  Hello everyone,
                         It was a mild rainy day here but I decided to give our little sunroom a more Christmasy look.So I will show you some of the little details today and later" the rest of the story".

                             I have been looking for an old sweater to make into a pillow and lucked in a couple of days ago. So,I came home and make a pillow and a few Christmas hearts from the sleeves.

                             I also found this little canning jar for a dollar and put some epsom salts in it with a candle and sprayed it with fake snow same as I did last last year but added a gingham ribbon and a small spruce cone . You can't have too many of these!

                                   I see a lot of sheet music being used these days so I thought this would work good in this frame that I had with the cross on top.

                               Some rosemary and greenery with winterberries.

                               I love my new winter white knitted pillow with the red toile one.

                              I moved these cute little wellies up to the sunroom.

                                Going for a natural look again with birdhouses and greenery etc.

                         I love this angel so much I never put it away so I can enjoy it all year.

                              I am not letting any scape go to waste on that poor sweater- Hope this keeps my tea warm!

Christmas at The Homestead

                                                            Hello everyone,
      Today, I am taking you along on a Christmas tour of one of my favorite shops in Summerside ~ The Homestead. I love the old Holman homestead that this shop is located in-it is just so full of charm with beautiful woodwork and lots of nooks and crannies. It is the perfect place to display all their home decor.

                                       Lets go in through this beautiful old door and check it out.

                                         

                                            Lots of traditional reds and greens this year.

                                                They have a little bit of everything!

                                                       Beautiful china in this lovely cabinet.

                                       Every year this stairway is decorated differently.This year it was done with burlap,red balls and plaid ribbons.Santa's coat matches perfectly.

                              I loved this green wooden cone and it could be used all year.

                                                A cute little nook in the old back stairway.

                             I also loved this and they sell the stamped burlap ribbon so you can make your own wreath.

                                       There is a lot of primative homespun look decor.

                                            So many rooms with interesting Christmas decor.

 I didn't photograph the second floor but it has lots of beautiful braided rugs,art and some antiques.

Country Christmas

                                                              Hello everyone!
              The weather has been pretty good here for November so I have been enjoying giving our home a Country Christmas look.

                           Our barn has an old back door that you see coming in our driveway so I have spruced it up for the season.

  Now,I am really looking forward to a little snow soon to really get the country Christmas look.

      I think you would all agree that snow would look better then the fallen leaves for these shots-but I had to work with what I had for today.

                  The old jaunting sleigh came from Coulson's and I gave it a fresh coat of paint.

                                              Yep! Definitely need snow!!!

          I would love to go for a horse and sleigh ride down some snowy country back roads here on the Island this winter but I may have to settle for using my imagination.

Well,I just thought I would share one of my projects with you.

Paperwhites in the Porch

                                                     Hello everyone!

                  I love to have paperwhites growing this time of year as they should bloom for the Christmas season giving a natural look and a little bit of an indoor garden.

               They look pretty growing in different containers. This year I am going with a French look.

                                  These beautiful roses are still bringing me joy.

                           My garden angel resides in the porch for the winter tucked into a corner.

                           I love this morror that came from Cool Breeze in Summerside a few years ago.

I am going to put some winter greenery in my old watering cans soon.

 I am off to a tea for the Queen's Jubilee at the Culinary Institute that I just heard about this afternoon. I hope I can take a few pics to share.
