Happy December Weekend

                                                          Happy Weekend!

          Hope you enjoy a lovely weekend with all the joys of the season.

           We had a dusting of snow a few days ago so I took some winter shots . The one above is from a previous winter though but the rest were taken at our home this week.

                              My husband made this birdhouse several years ago.

                           I know I shared pics of this setting (our barn) a couple of weeks ago but the dusting of snow adds more winter interest.

                              I bought the antique men's skates at the 70 mile yard sale .

                                     The north end of our barn and the old jaunting sleigh. too bad we don't have a horse so we could go for horse and sleigh rides!

                                    The ski's were a recent $2 find.

Our little dusting of snow has melted now and there is rain in the forecast with unseasonally warm temps again. Most people are loving it but I long for a little snow for a more Christmasy/winter look.

Simple Christmas Tablescape

                                                          Hello everyone,
              I hope your week is going well. We had some rain again today and there is no sign of snow for awhile yet. Hopefully we get some ( but not a lot ) before Christmas..

                                  My lovely thrift shop mold made into a pretty centerpiece.

                   Today, I wanted to use my old green and cream tranferware dishes with silver chargers.

                                            And little silver Christmas napkin rings.

                                                  Simple.

                                  Candles in old bottles add a touch of romantic charm

               This little tree came from Winners a few years ago and I added some dried roses from a bouquet and some dried Queen Anne's Lace from the garden( a good tip from a garden visitor this past summer). I really enjoy my little kitchen tree . Soon we will be putting up our real tree in the library and I will share pics with you next week of it.

A Spot of Tea

                                                                    Hello everyone!

                              How about a spot of tea in the kitchen today. It is warm and cosy by the stove .

                  A nice little afternoon tea break with some small sandwiches and sweets.

                                   It is a mild but cloudy day so I have lit some candles to add some cheer.

                                                            My simple centerpiece.

                                                           Candles glowing and some Christmas music playing make a relaxing tea time.

 I am sure some of you remember my favorite santa in his red toile coat and the small Christmas tree sitting in the baywindow adds some to the cosiness of the season.

My Christmas Centerpiece

                                                            Hello everyone,
          I hope you had a good weekend. We enjoyed some family time but also a lovely candlelight advent service at a beautiful little country church.
   A few days ago I found this old mold at the thrift shop and I could see how charming it would look as a Christmas centerpiece ot even just hanging on the wall in the kitchen.
 

                                         You can tell I love it by all the photos I took of it.

                              This is my own mold that I have used for several years for Christmas puddings.

                     You will be seeing more of this as I did a tablescape for later this week.

             We are starting our December with mild temps and rain for a few days.Apparently the prediction is for a milder winter with lots of precipitation-some rain some snow.
