Baskets and Bouquets

Hello everyone,
Our lovely weather continues so I enjoyed doing some painting outdoors today. This old chair got a coat of gold paint leftover from our house.

Since we have a lot of hydrangeas right now I loaded up this beautiful basket from my friend Janice and enjoyed taking a few photos in the (almost) autumn light.

Tomorrow I am off to Orwell Corner on a homeschooling trip with my daughter and little grandson Lucas so you can rest assured my camera will be coming too. I am looking forward to the day and hope our beautiful weather holds until we get home as rain is on the way.

I would like to welcome my new followers and thank you once again to you long term friends too.

Take care

Carolyn

Tea Time

                                                                   Hello everyone,
It is time for tea again and I have some treats for you.

Tea from my new tea pot that my husband surprised me with awhile ago.
How about some cookies from my vintage plate cookie stand. My husband made this for me with a special china bit on the drill.
                                                          Pretty-don't you think?

Well ,that was a nice little tea break but now I better get some work done.
I am joining A Delightsome Life ,Rose Chintz Cottage and The Dedicated House for their parties today.

Thank you for stopping in for tea today.

Blue & White Toile and Transferware

                                                               Hello everyone,
I am back with' the rest of the story' as we take a look around the rest of the Gardener's Cottage today. This little cottage in our garden has had several looks over the years but this is the first time for blue and white. One of the nice things about a white background is how easily it can get a new look-so,I borrowed a few things from the house. Do you remember my $2. braided mat-it goes well with the toile quilt that I have had for years.
                                                A spot of tea,anyone?
It is so peaceful in here with only the sound of birds singing and a warm breeze coming in.
Don't you just want to curl up with a pretty magazine?
I love these thrift shop dishes.

The little blue and white transferware pitcher was a favorite find on a trip to Maine a few years ago.

I have just the magazine for you-a Victoria with one of the most beautiful covers. I love the cover picture so much I think I would have bought it just for that reason but there are lots of pretty pics inside too.

I hope you enjoyed another peek at some of my blue and white in the cottage.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Carolyn

Blue & White Transferware Tablescape

                                                           Hello everyone,
It is another beautiful sunny day here and it was a toss up for me whether to do lunch or enjoy a book on the veranda. However, lunch it is and the setting is the Gardener's Cottage today.
One of the nice things about these sunny warm days is I can hang on to summer a little longer if I so desire.

This beautiful pitcher came from our annual 70 mile yardsale a couple of years ago and it is coming up again not this weekend but next. It has become an annual tradition for us and I always look forward to finding little treasures.

There is something about blue and white that always looks so fresh. Once again these dishes have been collected over time and here and there.

I love this plate rack as a nice way to display some of my favorite china and the good part is how easy it is to change it every now and then.

Hope you enjoyed lunch in the 'cottage'.

Tomorrow I have more pretty blue and whites for you.

I am joining Tablescape Thursday at Between Naps on the Porch. and My Romantic Home for Show and Tell.

Thank you for visiting if I rush I might still squeeze in a few minutes on the porch with a book before I do a photoshoot tonight with a couple of little ones.

Take care,
Carolyn
